Description:
The resurrection of Lazarus has a lot to teach us about God's love and care for us in our darkest seasons. What do we do when Jesus does not show up when or how we expect Him?
After Lazarus's death, his sisters both greeted Jesus separately with the same sentence: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” Contained in those words are a myriad of emotions - grief, doubt, deep disappointment, insecurity, and more. Martha and Mary had counted on Jesus and He hadn't shown up in time.
However, what they thought was their deepest disappointment and loss became the event that convinced the sisters beyond any doubt that Jesus was who He claimed to be and that He was capable of more than they had ever considered. Not only that, but Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead had a ripple effect that spread far beyond the small crowd at the tomb that day.
When the unthinkable happens and it feels like God has abandoned or forgotten us, where do we go from there? What you might see as the end of a story could actually be the beginning of something that you have not even imagined.
Join us as we dive deep into the story of Lazarus's death and resurrection and how God used it for our good and His glory. This greatest recorded miracle of Jesus not only led to multitudes of people believing in Him, but it became the tipping domino in a chain reaction that eventually culminated in the ultimate act of redemption - Jesus' own resurrection from the dead.
